Loves of my life: Part III...Garrett

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
On June 29, 2009 I was given the best blessing a person could ever ask for, I welcomed Garrett Wayne into my life. Now I can't think of anything else in the world that could be more AWESOME than becoming a parent.
Everyone that is a parent knows all the down-sides to this "process"; the sleepness nights, the being sick and  they can't tell ya what's wrong, but overall there are much more better moments than bad. Each day I get to experience the joy of watching him grow and learn new things. Go from learning to say Momma and now we have progressed to "I love you Momma" (nothing in the world trumps this). I remember when Garrett was a tiny baby and we would be up at night during one of our feedings I would pray for his spouse, wherever she may be, I know he is far from the marriage process but I hope the Lord grooms the right women for him and that he too will be good for her. During these hours I also got to remember the words to several children's songs I thought I forgot, Garrett's favorite to be put to sleep with was Amazing Grace!
In my earlier post I talked about the blessing I received when I lost my job in November. We were having to send Garrett to daycare while Jimmy and I worked. This was hard having to leave him everyday with practically strangers (at first before you get to know them) and seeing him cry most mornings. Now we are spoiled in the fact that he gets up whenever he wants and doesn't have to worry about bearing the weather in the morning..I'm not complaining about that either!! :) But most of all I have gotten to experience all the things he learns and the funny things he does that I wouldn't have gotten to see while working.
Like the verse at the beginning I pray everyday that Jimmy and I are the best parents Garrett could ever want and that he learns not only how to love but how to receive it. That he learns to respect others and respects me when I have to discipline (he is 100% boy) so this happens often!
I know every parent says their kid is the best in the world and I will have to agree I have a GREAT one, he has been ever since he was small, so it makes me worry that a brother or sister (and no I'm not pregnant) will be totally opposite!
